Another very successful online meeting was held last Monday evening - we are slowly getting better at the new technology.
Lili-Ann put together a lovely video of members and friends who joined in the 6 am driveway Anzac day commemoration. The video contained images of members in their driveways and also stories of involvement of family members in the wars.The video will be distributed to members in the near future.
In the photos above Ed Brown is wearing medals from his involvement in the Vietnam war and Karin and Rob Simpson are lighting up the day in the driveway of their home.
Many thanks to Lili-Ann for upskilling her tech abilities to be able to put together the numerous videos that have been prepared and distributed to members and in the Club Bulletins - well done.
A number of items were raised during the meeting:
- Jenni Nankervis spoke of a recent Busyfeet planning meeting and video prepared for the children to encourage them to keep on dancing while the Busyfeet program is is shutdown.
- Val Cuniffee said the there had been a meeting with Swinburne and there are many students keen to volunteers in the Club's projects
- Ted Waghorne indicated that letters are going to all past members of the Philippines missions to keep in contact and advise them of the water purification project that is now underway
- Tony Laycock spoke about the Club's participation in the Rotary 100 anniversary celebrations and a couple of projects that are linked to this milestone.
We then had a lovely session where members spoke of their gratitude for the kindness and thoughtfulness that they had experienced during the isolation period - it was very uplifting.
