On Monday evening President Steve announced that long time member and former President David Robinson had advised that he will not be continuing as a Club member next year. Members Helen Hartnett and Bill Granger spoke of David's significant contribution to Canterbury Rotary Club, his friendship and the great social events he has coordinated. David joined rotary in 1994, has been a Board member for 10 years and was President in 2007-08. He started many on-going activities and functions including the walking group, past president's dinners, a job interview process for migrants and, following the death of David's wife Mary,  the Mrs Robinson cancer group which has raised substantial funds.

David responded by advising he is resigning because of some health  concerns but will still be active as a friend of rotary. He thanked the Club and the members for its friendship  and support over many years.
