How is your potato growing in the Club's best potato competition?
The above photo of a potato, which is the pride and joy of the Bulletin editor, is evidence that potatoes will grow in a bucket. The potato supplied by Roger Taylor sat idle for many weeks while I hoped that the chit would grow a bit more - but there was no further growth.
Eventually it went in the bucket about three weeks ago and after about two more weeks I thought I had wasted a perfectly good bucket by putting holes in the bottom of it as there was no sign of anything happening in the bucket. But as you can see in the picture, a stem with some leaves have now sprouted out of the dirt (sorry the special soil mix).
I hope your potato growing is also showing some signs of progress.
