Terry Kung chaired the meeting and began with Rotary Grace and Toasts to the Queen and Rotary International.

President Daniel is still away for another week, so Graeme Whitmore welcomed members.
There were apologies from Pres Daniel, Don O'Donoghue and Jaqui De Lacy. The club welcomed the following visitors:
  1. Mary-anne Daubermann from Kimberley of the Northern Cape of South Africa, who later exchange club banners.
  2. Carmel Delahunty, who was attending with James.
  3. Rhys Williams, who was attending as one of our RYLA students.
  4. Morgan Marks, "our" Rotary Peace Fellow.

Graeme noted that this was to be primarily a fellowship meeting. Members were reminded that next Mondays meeting had been cancelled and the following Monday was a public holiday, so the next get-togethers were:

  1. April 29 - the Testimonial Lunch for James Delahunty at Victoria Park Golf Course from 11:00 AM – 3:00 PM.
  2. 14 May - the police Commissioner Ian Stewart will be making an important presentation to the club at the USC. Members are asked to advise Denise in advance whether or not they will attend and if attending to pay the $65 lunch cost by TT into the club’s bank account to allow the club to provide the USC was a good estimate of the numbers attending and to simplify cash administration on the day
  3. Jun 15 - the golf day at the Virginia Golf Course between 7:00 AM – 2:00+ PM.

Spots
  1. Mark Williams advised that he and Robyn attended the Rotary District Conference on Friday last, where the theme was Peace and that there were several presentations there made the trip well worthwhile and future conferences were recommended to members.
  2. Denise advise members that Don O'Donoghue was back in hospital, but hopefully only for the day
  3. Terry advised that district 3409 in Taiwan was organising a nine-day charity bike ride around Taiwan.  Peter Russell was attending and wondering whether other Rotarians would like to join him. Those interested should advise Terry, who will have the details.

Rhys Williams introduced himself to members and thanked them for the opportunity to attend the Ryla Camp on 5 May at Coolum. He was hoping to learn a lot from this camp.
