State of Vermont Archivist Tanya Marshall
Meet our State Archivist!

Join Barre Rotary as we welcome State Archivist & Chief Records Officer Tanya Marshall, who will explain the critical and unique role that she plays in our State.

Aside from being our State's Archivist and Chief Records Officer, Tanya also directs the Vermont State Archives and Records Administration, a division within the Vermont Office of the Secretary of State responsible for administering the Statewide Records and Information Management Program, which includes records appraisal and scheduling for local and state government, managing a record center and archival repositories for the executive, legislative, and judicial branches of Vermont state government, and serving as legislative clerk to the Vermont General Assembly. She is the former chair of the Vermont Municipal Land Records Commission and is a member of the Vermont Supreme Court’s Rules Committee on Public Access to Court Records. In 2021, she was appointed by the Secretary of the United States Senate to serve on the Advisory Committee to the Records of Congress.
