Rotary Rib n Roll

A luncheon was held at the Rotary Club of Brampton in honour of our Rib ‘N Roll Volunteers. Brad Goodison, Chair of the Rib ‘N Roll Committee, thanked all the volunteers and corporate sponsors and announced that over $45,000 was raised at this event.

Guests at this luncheon included Ron Mitchell of Tour for Kids. This year over 200,000 children will be diagnosed with cancer. Ron thanked the Rotary Club for all the work they do for these kids.

Tom Horlor of Erin Oak Kids also thanked Rotary for their unbelievable donation to Erin Oak Kids. In May 2017, a new building will be opening, located at Castlemore and McBean. The building will serve over 7000 kids per year and the program area that the club donates to is autism. There is a pool, a gym, fitness centre. The building is now coming out of the ground.

Malcolm Slater gave a brief update on the Rotary Club Charity whose focus is to benefit children and youth. Last year we donated $130,000 and it’s a tremendous honour to work with such a passionate group of Rotarians.

Wendell Brown will be the new Chair of Rib ‘N Roll with John Sanderson as co-chair. Brad has done a terrific job and will have big shoes to fill. He’s looking forward to the future and again, thanks to the volunteers.

The next Rib ‘N Roll will be held May 27, 28 & 29 of 2016. Wendell and John Sanderson are looking forward to the next event and more volunteers.
