Once again the vibrancy and flexibility of our Club shone through at Breakfast this week.  It seemed as though our rostered members for the usual duties were all absent for one reason or another.  I won't name and shame them but instead a big thank you to those who ably and willingly stepped up and helped out.

Mark W, the money man, was doing just that as Ian B, extended the warm hand of welcome to all as we arrived.  "I'll do it" Judy volunteered to run the show and took the position of Chair and introduced our Guest Speaker.
A warm welcome was extended to our guest, Roger's wife and better half, Sally.  It's always nice to see you, Sally.  Prospective Member, Megyn Carpenter was back with us again and very keen to join our Club.  Thank you for coming along again, Megyn and thanks also for providing us with an impromptu, "this is your life".
Lucky for Judy, the instructions for Chairperson were there for her to follow.  It'd been a while since being in the that role for Judy.  It's just like riding a bike though as Judy quickly found out.  Grace followed by the Toast to Australia, then over to Mr Royce Abbey himself, Aan Still OAM.

This time, Alan whisked us away to another trouble spot in the world of Rotary.  The International Toast was to D2452 Palestine RC of Bethlehem.  Perhaps you were a week early, Alan. Isn't our Christmas Breakfast next week ?  I guess we might be away in a manger by then.  The link to this very interesting club is here and if you'd like to check up on Alan's mind boggling statistics, here's your chance.

Our Guest Speaker, Libby Small, a peer educator with COTA (Council On the Aging), provided us with some very worthwhile information about getting our affairs in order.  The message rang loud and clear to all of us, if you haven't got a Will, Enduring Power of Attorney or Executor of your Will, get one now !  For more information about COTA and for those who weren't at Breakfast and may be in need of this information, click on the this link.

Pam, our Welfare Director, is now recognising birthdays and anniversaries at our Breakfasts.  December is a big month for birthdays and anniversaries for our Club.  Happy birthday to Arnaldo, who turned another year younger on Monday.  If ever you forget when your birthday or more importantly, your anniversary falls, always be sure to check each week on The Reel.  All birthdays and anniversaries are posted on the right hand bottom of the page.

This Saturday night is our Club's Christmas Party which is once again being held at Merv and Anne's.  A huge thank you must go to Merv and Anne who do a fantastic job hosting us rowdy bunch.  I look forward to seeing as many of you there, as possible.  Don't forget to pay in advance ($25 per head), as there will be NO money collected on the night.

A reminder that our Breakfast next week will be our final meeting for the year.  As such it will be Christmas themed and I ask each of you to bring a present (about $10 in value) to participate in our famous Secret Santa game.

Have a great week everyone and I look forward to seeing you at the Christmas Party and our final Breakfast for the year, next Tuesday.
