National Youth Science Forum (NYSF) students Emily Morcom (Caloundra High) & Stephanie Keenan (Pacific Lutheran College) report back.

Thank you for supporting me in this amazing experience.

Gerry chaired the meeting, and welcomed Emily and her Mum Judy, Stephanie, Amanda and Chloé.
Gerry even let Alan do the International Toast, and he kept it alphabetical too, toasting Haiti.
Bernie gave the President's address.

Stephanie knew she wanted to do something around medical science. just so long as she wasn't stuck in a boring pharmacist's job like her mum.   NYSF opened her eyes to a lot of other possibilities in the medical and laboratory areas, and she even returned with a new appreciation about her mum's work.
Emily was the last of three sisters to go to NYSF, and found the experience broadened her options, made her lifelong friends, and allowed her to explore a different city. The career Expo Day was useful as it allowed her to compare the offerings from various universities.
Our future doctors??
Judy was asked what became of her other two daughters post NYSY.
Sarah couldn't decide between physics, drama, chemistry or modern history, but ended up doing engineering at UQ.  She now works for Caltex in Brisbane as a chemical engineer.  Kate is an occupational therapist.

He also stole Darryl's thunder by telling all about the Centaur Memorial
All the boys in 1967 - of course it wasn't till 2009 that they found out where the wreck really was.
Our finances weren't as scary as Deborah made out they looked
Sgt Merv showed no mercy.

Alan finished the meeting with a General Monash thought - Australia is a great country because the people are educated and they have elections.
