On Tuesday 20 November, the family, friends, the Rotary Club of Caloundra and the Community farewelled one of our longstanding members Lyn Roberts PHF. For 25years he has done his bit for the Caloundra Community. He was a wonderful family man, great friend and mentor to many. We will miss his dry humour and matter of fact demeanour.
During his time with Caloundra he was very involved with the Golf days and he made sure there was no cheating, he was a stickler for reporting the score sheets in a proper manner.
His Celebration of Life at Gregson & Weight Caloundra was a fitting send-off to his life. Farewell Lynne we will miss you. Lexley, Michael, Suellen, Jacqui and your families, please accept our deepest condolences.
I would once again ask Club members to consider taking up positions on the Board at the coming AGM for the 2019-20 year. It’s not an onerous position and it may take a little time but it is well worth it. Please contact Chris or myself if you would be willing to give a little more time in the Spirit of Rotary.
Could I please ask all Club members to add up the voluntary hours that you do for the Club and send them to me. AG Wendy has requested them.
AG Wendy has a projector to give away, it is in very good condition. It was owned by the former Rotary Club of Kawana Waters. All the Cluster Clubs have one so she is offering it to a Community Group who may need it. Please let me know if you are aware of such a group and I will contact Wendy.
We say goodbye next week to Helen Fox and her husband Peter. Their house is sold and they are busily packing for their move to Brisbane. On behalf of the Club, Helen I would like to thank you for the time and energy you gave to the Club while here in Caloundra. You were Club President for the year 2010-11 when you instigated a lot of change. Your wealth of knowledge in Rotary helped us all and your time as Program Director brought many interesting speakers to our meetings. Thank you Helen. We wish you and Peter all the best for the next phase of your life’s journey.
