Purple Purse Challenge

 

To build awareness around domestic violence, The Allstate Foundation has partnered with 27 YWCAs in a month long "Purple Purse Campaign." Backed by Allstate, the YWCA team that raises the most money will receive an additional $100,000!

 

Similar to the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge, the Purple Purse Campaign hopes to shed light on domestic abuse. It is more prevalent than many think: one in four women will experience abuse at some time in her life. That is more than the number of women who will get breast cancer. It's past time to do something about it.

 

Wednesday, September 10, Sunrise Rotarian and Director of Development for the Yakima YWCA, Amy Flynn, asked for Sunrise Rotary's support in helping with the Purple Purse Campaign.
