PRESENTATION SYNOPSIS:

Have you ever wondered what goes on behind the camera of your favourite television show?  Join us as Devon Hogue discusses the opportunities and challenges of filming on location in the City of Cambridge. Find out what shows have filmed locally, how Economic Development attempts to balance the needs of the community with the wants of the industry, what type of impact this has on our city, and how the film team ensures a production company gets their perfect shot.

BIOGRAPHY:

Devon Hogue is a community builder, supporter and cheerleader from Cambridge.  She has been an enthusiastic municipal professional for almost 20 years - 14 of which were spent within the Clerks Division before moving into Economic Development.  Devon is currently employed as the Business Information Officer for the City of Cambridge, where she specializes in municipal film program development, coordination and promotion.  She has studied Economic Development at the University of Waterloo, Leadership Development with Conestoga College and Municipal Administration through the Association of Municipal Clerks and Treasurers of Ontario (AMCTO).  Dedicated to lifelong learning, Devon is currently studying digital marketing through McMaster University. 

Devon is passionate about her community, building positive relationships and experiences within it, and watching the burgeoning film industry grow throughout Ontario.  Outside of work, Devon enjoys spending time with her 3 daughters, family and friends - and her perfect night out involves karaoke.
