The change of date didn't seem to affect the number of community members and holiday makers who braved the cold to come out and stock up their bookshelves.
It was wonderful to see so many children absorbed in the great selection of books we had for them this year. We also really appreciated the help of the young people from the youth centre trust who assisted with the big task of setting up the sale on the "give back to the community day".
Their enthusiasm for helping and serving their yummy goods from a pop up cafe during the weekend certainly made it a pleasure to donate funds to a van for them to use for their activity programme.
Thank you very much to all the members, friends and businesses who voluteered their time and equipment. We will have at least $12,000 to contribute towards the youth centre van. A great effort.
