Please read below: an update from Ian Munro Publicity Director 2019/20

The focus for 2019 was in building the Club’s public profile within the Tawa community, principally using social media. In other words, an awareness and branding exercise.
To that end the following were used: The Club’s Facebook and the Facebook pages for I am proud to be from Tawa, Linden Appreciation Society, Tawa Community Noticeboard, Tawa Residents Noticeboard, Probus and Vibrant Tawa and also for Rotary District 9940. Additionally, we made use of Neighbourly and Malcolm Sparrow’s Tawa Community News. We also managed to have one article published in Kapi-Mana News about our Tawa Lookout project and one in Rotary Down Under about Foster Hope.
Using interesting images and catchy headings, the social media posts highlighted our good works and the contributions we make to the community; invited the community to Club meetings of interest, to participate in projects and to join Rotary; and celebrated significant events and times of the year. From time to time we informed the community about Rotary’s global activities.  more after you click !!!!!

Alongside, these vehicles sit the weekly bulletin prepared by Tony Heyward to convey news and information to members and our Club website, managed by Laura Sommers. The website contains a mix of more information about the club, guests speakers and so on for both members and the public, while the Club-facing side of our website contains information for members only. These days this website is the Club’s historical record.
Some 2019 statistics:
69 – the number of posts published.
302,749 – the number of people reached by our posts - 237,491 people for our regular posts and an additional 65,258 reached with the Club’s March 15 One Human Race post. This post continues to be shared around the world.
614 – the number of Followers (subscribers to our posts). Female 59%, male 41%. We started the year with 388 Followers (+58%).
3,000 - 3,600 - the number of people reached by each of the most popular posts, excluding the March 15 post. These were for various Book Fair posts, the invitation to hear Matthew Strawbridge and the Dame Kerry Prendergast Business Breakfast invite.
