All our committees are underway with their projects for the year and we look forward to the Club forum on 21 November where each Director will give a brief report on activities to date and what they have planned for the rest of the year.

During September we had David Ruscoe come and speak to us about cryptocurrency.  I still don’t understand it – but it was a very enjoyable presentation and I’m sure we all know more about it than before.  We also had Matt Claridge come and talk about the Te Araroa Trail Trust.  His presentation got me thinking that it would be awesome if Rotary could find a project that was New Zealand wide that all Rotary clubs in New Zealand would buy into and support.  (Something like Polio Plus but a New Zealand focus).  It was originally the Hutt Valley Rotary Clubs that had the idea of the Hutt River Trail and what an asset that is for our city.
We missed a meeting in September due to the memorial holiday for Queen Elizabeth 11 falling on a Monday.
Thank you to all of you that helped the River Valley Rotary Club with the traffic management at the National Quilting Symposium the first week in October.  It was pleasing to see the collaboration between our two clubs.
I look forward to seeing you all on Monday night.
