I grew up in Bayfield, Wisconsin, where I had deep family roots. Thus, I'm a huge Green Bay Packer Fan! Go Pack!! I graduated from UW Stout, and have lived in Duluth for 30 years.

My favorite winter pastime is alpine skiing. My favorite pastime in general is travel and exploring new places and meeting new people. I also enjoy gardening and fussing in my yard.

A family fun fact is that my paternal grandfather was the last lighthouse keeper in the Apostle Islands. He retired from Long Island Lightstation after a career in what started as the US Lighthouse Service, later merged with the US Coast Guard. As I child I was fortunate to spend part of my summers on Long lsland.

My "fur" children in the attached photo are:  Bode Miller Mattson, 14 and a half (named after the famous skier, but not quite the athlete he's named after), Natalie Grace, 2 (named after our lovely Rotarian Natalie Zeleznikar, long story there), and Lucy Lu, 5 and a half. Bode and Natalie are rescues as have been almost all my furry family.

My favorite things about Rotary, and the reasons I couldn't stay away, are the opportunities for volunteering in the community and making a difference, and the friends I've made over the years as well as the new friends I hope to make upon my return. I'm truly excited to return to Club 25. It's been a big part of my life for many years and I'm glad to be back!
