Setting Sail to End Nuclear Weapons

Tom Morgan and Philip Anderson, members of Veterans for Peace, local Chapter 80, will speak about an ambitious voyage of The Golden Rule to raise awareness and support for the Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons adopted by the United Nations General Assembly in 2017.  Tom and Philip believe that nuclear powers like the United States should play a major role in bringing this treaty into force. 

The Golden Rule, a 34-foot ketch, set off on its voyage this fall from Minneapolis down the Mississippi, along the Gulf Coast, around Florida and up the intercoastal waterway and back to the Midwest through the Great Lakes.  

The voyage is expected to take 15 months and Tom and Philip will give us the details of this ambitious expedition.
