Students of ACG Strathallan were sponsored by our Club to attend the RYDA course on Friday 15 November at the Karaka Sports Center. We are so pleased to be heavily involved with such an incredible programme that aims to educates young drivers and save lives. A huge thank you to George, Peter and Warren who volunteered on the day.

The flagship RYDA Programme is delivered each year to over 50,000 senior high school students from more than 650 participating schools across Australia and New Zealand. RYDA is designed for 16-18 year old students who are approaching that crucial time in their lives where they start to drive independently or are travelling as passengers of novice drivers. A series of practical and powerful workshops that challenge students to change the way they think about road safety, RYDA helps lay the foundation for safe road use throughout their lives.

A letter of thanks for our Volunteers from the organisers in the Read more section.

Thank you all so much for arranging the volunteers for our RYDA programme on Friday.  The students certainly went away with many new plans and strategies to use when they find themselves in different situations as a driver or passenger.

Your help is very much appreciated on the day with all the jobs you do and especially getting the students around the venue to time.  This venue requires that bit more work with having to set out al the tables and chairs in each room, and then pack them away again.  We really appreciated your assistance with this.  I hope you all popped into the store on the corner for your well rewarded ice cream before heading home! (We did!!)

ACG Strathallan value this programme for their Year 11 students and always make the effort to fit it into their school programme each year.  This year was no exception.  You can also tell by the students questions and responses that they are taking in the messages and processing them over the course of the day.

I wanted also to mention a huge thanks for sorting the cones and making the safe walkway to the hall for the groups of students.  It was a very windy dusty day with trucks coming and going so this was extra much appreciated (if there is a thing!)  Also for bringing the cones in, putting them put, and collecting them at the end of the day.  For anyone who has lifted one of those cones, they will know how much work that is!

We really appreciated you taking responsibility for this at this venue. Our heartfelt thanks and appreciation for the work you did on the day.

Kind regards
Pearl
