A visit from Benjamin Polis our International Exchange Student from 2012/13 in the Presidential Year of Graham Viall and Benja as we fondly named him was hosted by the Wilsons, Burgeses, Barbera McArdle and Debbie Wright.
He was an appreciative, polite student and a pleasure to host as he just fitted straight into the family routine with no fuss or bother and participating fully in everything that the Club became involved with. Of course, it was a year to remember under Graham and Benja still remembers the fun of the Motorcycle Show at the Vodafone Centre and collecting loose change in a bucket from all and sundry for Polio.
He not only remains so grateful to our Club for our Sponsorship but also for the great outings and involvement with our members, paying for him to go on the usual South Island trip was a highlight as our Club picked up the tab due to his lack of funds and that will always stay with him.
He loved Hahei with us, Rob Allen and John Ross. He remembers the complaints from the Free Diving John regarding the Bloody Dirty Water a joke on which we often reflect.

Benja studied for a Management Degree, however changed over to a Communication degree which more suites the direction that he wants to take in the field of Photography and Hospitality. In his words “I have finally made it “however he has paid his own way right through which has to be admired and we all certainly wish him well.
Benja, his two cousins and a friend have been hosted by Debbie and David Wright at their Golf Lodge, being spoilt to bits by the ever-loving couple.
They took off on the 11th September for a 22-day road trip covering both Islands, finishing in Queenstown and flying back to Auckland and if the stars align, we may see them at a club meeting in October.
