George, Bernie and Peter attended the AGM for the Kootuitui Trust held at Papakura High School.  Chairman Lee Auton who is doing a great job for the Trust as he is such an inspirational leader.
Some may remember that Lee presented the Trust workings to us at one of our Club Meetings a couple of years ago. At that time, it did seem to be a complex challenge however after listening to his report for the past year they have gone from strength to strength and their results are nothing short of outstanding.
The fourth year of Papakura Kootuitui Trust operation has been one of moving out of the pilot with the Middlemore Foundation and securing the means by which they can sustain themselves into the immediate future.

The three strands of focus are in Health, Education and Healthy Homes. The progress and results are quite outstanding. You may recall during Lees last visit the programme of supplying Chrome Books and digital technology was paramount to the learning experience and with nearly 2000 devices being purchased since 2016 what an achievement that is on its own.

Their Executive Officer Angela Gattung is the driving force and the most incredible person who achieves results way beyond the norm to the extent that most people would stand in awe of her achievements. The photo is of their latest accomplishment and is a new Toyota HiLux van which the team involved in the Housing Warm Dry Homes initiative can use to transport all of their gear and equipment and is the result of Angela’s consistent fundraising.

This whole activity is mind blowing and we will ask Lee and his Team to update us again in the near future, however Bernie, Peter and I have a copy of the full report if anyone seeks more detail.
