Club News
Just in time for Anzac Day, club members visited the Army Museum at Keswick to remember the sacrifices and discover theatres of war that shaped Australians. Museum Manager Burns was our guide, sharing details about everything from volunteering at the museum, and where to find the hidden sniper. [look up].
Members were sobered at the sacrifices made by ordinary South Australians doing extraordinary things.

Phil and Joyce Ogden have a passion to see Polio wiped from the earth.

They are riding their tandem cycle from Adelaide to Sydney and stopped in Morphett Vale to visit our club and tell their story.
From the Rotary Club of South Launceston, Phil and Joyce have undertaken these journeys before with the Nullarbor their biggest challenge so far.

Delivering a message to all Rotarians, the couple said, "We feel that the enormous effort which has gone into turning the tide of the disease will be lost if pressure, and fund raising, is not maintained until the final handful of cases is consigned to history.

"If we take our collective eyes off the ball, the disease will re-establish. So, we are still committed to making our personal donations every year but felt we might harness another of our passions, cycling, to push things along - once again with the assistance of Rotary."

The cost of a single cup of coffee from each Rotarian will make a difference.
