Salvation Army - Connect Meals

The connect meals have at this time been cancelled.
Renae Phillips, Corps officer at Murray Bridge will be taking up an appointment at Pt Augusta/Peterborough from 11th January 2023 and Adrian & Lydia along with their children will be taking over in Murray Bridge on 18th January 2023.
Renae has arranged to celebrate and honour the highly successful Connect Meals. She has arranged for the Lions Club on November 3rd to prepare a BBQ with Mary and Renae providing Salads and Renae providing cake with members from the service clubs to bring along sweets to share if possible.
This will be a normal Connect Meal with local persons attending.
All members of the Service Clubs are welcome to attend at Salvation Army Hall at 4.45 pm for 5.00pm on November 3rd 2023.
Renae will organise a gift and card for Mary, which will be available for all to sign.
The future of any Connect meals or assistance for some other type of support for the people of Murray Bridge will be discussed with Adrian & Lydia after they have settled into their new position here in Murray Bridge.
History:
The idea of a Connect Meal for the people of Murray Bridge was an idea from the Murray Bridge Rotary Club and in discussions with The Salvation Army it was seen as a good project. How ever M.B Rotary club could see the benefit of involving the other Service Clubs in Murray Bridge to also become involved.
The first meal was served on 6th June 2019 and for the next year an average attendance was 60 persons. This attendance did drop slightly over the next years. Great assistance with the meals was the preparation of excellent healthy meals by Mary and the serving ETC by the members of the Service Clubs.
Apart from the meals, assistance was given by both the Rotary clubs in the major re arrangement of the kitchen area with removal of part of a wall, new floor covering, new serving counter and the supply of a new commercial dishwasher. Other smaller jobs were also undertaken.
A very worthwhile project with great fellowship involving the Service Clubs in Murray Bridge.
