The Bus Stop Theatre is a multi-configurable performance venue located on Gottingen St in north end Halifax. Through its rental operations, the Bus Stop Theatre serves a wide range of artistic and community interests. Its affordable rental rates make it a crucial piece of infrastructure for both emerging and established artists and also a regular venue for many community events. The Bus Stop Theatre also runs educational and showcasing programs that help develop the skills and careers of local emerging talent.

 

Sebastien Labelle, Executive Director of the Bus Stop Theatre Cooperative, will present plans to secure a future for what has become an essential community hub and arts incubator in north end Halifax. After serving artists and community organizations for 16 years, the Bus Stop Theatre's future is in jeopardy due to the potential sale of the building housing it. The cooperative managing the theatre has developed a business plan for the acquisition of the theatre and the expansion of its facilities to include a new second performance space and additional rehearsal studios with a continued mandate to serve emerging artists and underserved communities.
