On Tuesday, July 30th we are having a BBQ at Rotary Manor in place of our regular meeting. This BBQ will be a chance for members to visit one of our clubs longest running projects and meet the residents as well as our new tenant relations officer, Mike.

This is a BBQ that our club is putting on for the Residents of Rotary Manor as well as the Duplexes - all part of Northwest Rotary Community Housing Inc. Some of you will be needed to roll up your sleeves and help BBQ and serve but just as importantly we want to ensure there are Rotarians there to mix with the residents and show them some community spirit.

For our newer members who may not be as familiar with the project Northwest Rotary Community Housing Inc was formed 30 years ago by our club. Our club built Rotary Manor as well as a number of duplexs; together the properties form Northwest Rotary Community Housing Inc. We provide housing to low income individuals with disabilities, single parents and seniors.  Northwest Rotary Community Housing Inc is still run by our club. The Board of Directors is comprised entirely of Rotarians from our club. We hire Martek to manage the day to day operations as well as a tenant relations officer.

We have a lot to be proud of with this project so please join us on July 30th to celebrate a wonderful project and show the residents a good time. You are welcome to invite family members to attend, children are welcome, please note the ages as you register them. We are planning some activites for the kiddos and are hoping they will be age appropriate.

Some Rotarians from the Board of Directors for the project are organizing the logistics for the event but if you are willing to help out at the event (BBQ, serving, etc) please put a note in the comments section. If we don't get enough volunteers we'll come looking. smiley There is no cost for the event. We will be serving Hot Dogs and Hamburgers.
