Vimla has been involved with Rotary from the early 80s. She is a school teacher by profession and has a passion for making a difference in the younger generation, and hence is the founder and Charter President of Rotary Club Of St George Next Gen which aims to encourage younger Rotarians to experience leadership while doing service above self. The biggest highlight of her Rotary journey has been completing the Mount Everest Base Camp trek in 2019 to raise funds for Polycystic Kidney Disease Foundation.
Another passion of Vimla’s is educating communities about sustainability. She has worked with the Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden Foundation, training teachers to teach kitchen and garden programmes in schools around Australia and she is also the founder of a school garden in a local school. Another highlight was when Vimla worked with Jamie Oliver as a Food Revolution Ambassador in Australia promoting healthy eating in schools and the community.
