The goal for Rise Against Hunger and other meal packing organizations is to end world hunger by 2030. Here's some facts about hunger around the world:
- 821 million people in the world don't get the proper nutrition they need to live a healthy life
- The number of people facing hunger in the world has dropped from 24% in 1990 to about 10%
- Africa has the highest prevalence of undernourishment - nearly 21% of the population is affected.
- Giving women farmers more resources could bring the number of hungry people in the world down by 100-150 million people
- Malnutrition is the single largest contributor to disease in the world
