White Bear Lake Area Community Water Meeting
Thursday, September 21
6:30 p.m. open house, 7:00-8:30 p.m. program
White Bear Lake City Hall
Conservation Minnesota, along with the cities of White Bear Lake and Mahtomedi, is hosting a community water meeting featuring presentations by Vadnais Lake Area Watershed Management Organization and Rice Creek Watershed District. This is part of a statewide effort to improve water quality. Governor Dayton’s office is looking for comments on how Minnesota could reach a goal of reducing water pollution by 25% by the year 2025. Current state plans to reduce water pollution will only bring us to an 8% pollution reduction.
This meeting will be an opportunity to engage on water quality concerns, locally and broadly, and work together to create solutions. We are honored to announce that White Bear Lake’s Mayor, Jo Emerson, and Mahtomedi’s Mayor, Jud Marshall, will be giving opening remarks to kick off this meeting as well. All cities in the White Bear Lake area are invited to participate, including White Bear Lake, Mahtomedi, Hugo, Birchwood Village, Gem Lake, Hugo, and more. Please join us in contributing to an improvement in Minnesota’s water!
Please RSVP to Julie Drennen at julie@conservationminnesota.org OR (612) 767-1569.
