 Historic Preservation Project

Historic Preservation Plan for the Nombre de Dios area. We are in the early stage of organizing a local non-profit organization to preserve historic sites and foster economic growth in the area of Nombre de Dios,

Our first project development step is to survey the area land and maritime sites described below and help develop Preservation plans for this sites:

Santiago del Príncipe, the first settlement founded by free blacks in the Americas in 1579. We believe this could be a great site to share the Cimarrones History with the World.

Nombre de Dios is a colonial Spanish site founded in 1510 on the Atlantic Coast of Panama. The Atlantic Sister city/port to Panama Viejo.

Playa Damas Shipwreck Site is an early 16th Century Spanish shipwreck site believed by some to be Christopher Colombus’ ship lost in 1503. With this Preservation Plan and a Preservation Plan for the area wreck sites completed we would then need assistance in preparing a Master Plan for Historic Preservation Plan for the Nombre de Dios area.
