Pres Ted - very happy that we with others were able to package 16,868 meals for Kids against Hunger, reported that his grandson who suffered a concussion is definitely off school for a period of time along with other restrictions and is not a happy camper!

SPECIAL PRESENTATIONS:

Not the usual Rotary Moment but a special moment for Oshawa Parkwood Rotary. District Grants Chr. Lars Hendriksson presented a District Grant of $7200.00 to Lennis Trotter Chr. of the Kids safety Village Committee. This grant applied for on behalf of the ten (10) Rotary Clubs in Durham Region is in support of our "signature" project KSV of Durham Region.

A second special moment for our club was receiving First Prize in the 2016-17 District Governor's Membership Challenge and our membership increase in the 2016-17 Rotary year. This challenge was issued by then DG Jim Loutitt who presented the award to PP David Andrews. PDG Jim also, recognized the efforts of Membership Chr. Linda Porritt and Membership Director Lennis Trotter. The value of this award is $2500.00 to be used on service projects.

GUEST SPEAKER:

David Andrews walked us through set up and final planning for our Reverse Draw. He asked for an received volunteers for the evening of the draw. David reminded us that the evening should flow smoothly and move along in a timely manner. The number of meals requested is 130, the Golf Club will be prepared for more should the need arise. Set up of the Silent Auction items will begin at approx. 3PM. We anticipate a successful evening. Thanks to all who donated and/or sought donations and to those who have worked so hard to make this, our largest fundraiser, a classy event.
