HAPPY TOONIES

Sue – had a wonderful week at The Villages in Florid, last week. No wind. No Snow.

Terry Giles – Very happy to be at our Rotary Club. Glad he is coming back next week to present his mini craft talk and he has invited all of us to come to the Officers mess at the Ontario Regiment on May 3 about 8 pm. Terry will be 90.

Linda – Despite her bad cold, she is feeling a bit better and thanked VP Lennis for chairing the meeting last week..

Kris – had a great week in Florida last week. Great weather. A very windy plant ride home. Lots of ups and downs.

Lennis – the Kids Safety Village is almost 100% booked for the rest of the school year. The Fire Departments are there one day a week, Go Transit is there one day a week, and the Durham Regional Police Service are there daily – all  teaching the children all about the various types of safety.

Robert Kipling – Ready to get to the March 1 to 6  PDAC (Prospectors & Developers Association of Canada): The World’s Premier Mineral Exploration & Mining Convention at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre. It is the leading convention for people, companies and organizations in, or connected with, mineral exploration, with over 1,000 exhibitors, 3,500 investors and 25,600 attendees from 135 countries.

Bob Koski – hopes that the masked critters have left the attic. A very costly endeavor.

Devon – very happy to have Linda and he featured in The Oshawa Express as Rotarians -  People of Action. Excellent article. Thank you to Pres Linda, and to Sandy and Kim. Here is the link.

GUEST SPEAKER:

President Linda circulated some photos of her trip to Rotary Headquarters in Evanston, Illinois, last year at this time. She also circulated a letter that she sent to many institutions and community leaders asking for potential awardees of the Rotary Peace Fellowships. She also showed our members a nice thank you letter from former Oshawa Mayor and fellow Rotarian Bruce and Donna Mackey. She also shared the Oshawa Express article on Devon and Linda Biddle as People of Action.

Following the circulation of the various letters and photos, the members chatted at tables about any and all matters.
