REMINDER: Hilda asked for two volunteers to replace Al and herself at Bingo while they are in Florida (The Feb 22 Bingo)

REMINDER: SAVE THE DATE: Ted also announced that the 2020 date for our Kids Against Hunger was going to be Sunday May 3 at the Jubilee pavilion in Lakeview Park in Oshawa.

Ted announced that this week is Cake and Ham delivery week.  We picked them up on Tuesday . People with large orders picked them up on Tuesday at Devon’s and at the meeting on Tuesday night at our meeting. Your help is appreciated at Devon’s on Tuesday. More Hands make less work. Please get your money in to Devon as soon as you can.

Hilda announced that the annual Christmas party at Lennis and Esther Trotter’s on Dec 10. Dinner will cost $25 per person. Please sign up with her as soon as you can. Please pay at the Registration table this week and next week.

Hilda also announced that the poinsettias, that are given to the Rotary widows and to former members, have been purchased and she has arranged for drivers to deliver them.

REMINDER: Joe Solway , from the Bowmanville Rotary Club promoted the Concert for Feed The Need Durham on Dec 15 . We sure hope our members can go and support the Bomanville Club and also Feed the Need. 66,000 persons in Durham are food insecure. The Tickets are $25 each. Two concerts on Sunday December 15 afternoon and evening performances.

Councilor Derek Giberson’s group, The Professors of Punk are playing their annual Christmas concert at Simcoe Street United Church with all of the proceeds going to the Back Door Mission. The 2019 Professors Of Funk Friends & Family Christmas Special December 18 -19, 2019 . It's Oshawa's new holiday tradition, now in our 6th year with two nights! Every dollar in ticket sales goes to the Back Door Mission For The Relief Of Poverty, an organization in downtown Oshawa that "works to relieve the burdens of poverty and social dislocation within the economically deprived and street population of Oshawa. We endeavour to meet whatever need an individual brings to us or find out who can wherever possible."

The work of the Mission includes distributing over 13,000 free meal tickets per year for Durham Outlook For The Needy, and operating drop-ins with food and drinks, social interaction, emergency food, and many other services.

Thank you to Oshawa City Councilor and good friend of our Rotary Club, Derek Giberson for playing our carols, and thank you to Riley Wheater, granddaughter of Gerry Bedford (Kids Safety Village) for singing the Carols.
