  • Janice Coupland – Dec 13 – Club members Party at Kris and Janice condo in Ajax – please dress up for the party (shirt and tie gentlemen) . A tour of their condo and then to the Party in the Party room. Details and cost will follow shortly. Sign up sheet coming soon.

  • Ted Morrison – RLI (Rotary Leadership Institute), Parts 1,2 & 3 will be here at the Oshawa Golf Club on Nov. 12th; please register on line - if you have a problem with this, contact Pres. Dave; registration fee will be reimbursed by our club, by submitting your receipt to Treasurer Devon ;

  • Dave announced that "Push for Change" walk with Joe Roberts on October 21 was well attended by Rotarians from Oshawa and Whitby - check for $10,000.00 presented from Rotary Clubs in Durham Region

  • Dave also announced that World Polio Day was well recognized in Durham Region; the District Conference 7070 this past weekend was a success with good speakers – and the 2017 Conference will be in Niagara on the Lake - November ¾

  • Dave announced District 7070 Rotary NIght at Whitby Dunlops game is November 19th;

  • Lennis Trotter - Hallowe'en Haunt at Safety Village - October 29th 5 Pm to 8:30 PM – need volunteers

  • Lennis Trotter – need volunteers for the Nov 15 thru Nov 26 Christmas Lights and Parade event at the Kids Safety Village 5 to 8 pm

  • Robbie Larocque - Walk of Fame Dinner -Thursday November 3 - $80.00 - inductees Shirley Harmer, Stanley Lovell, Stephen Poloz - tickets available; Portion of ticket is tax deductible.

  • Kris Sachdeva asked for a meeting of the International Committee and the Board to discuss needs in Haiti;

  • Ted Morrison - Courtice Rotary Club have tickets for Men's Welsh Choir on November 19th at 3PM; - contact Marie Visser;

  • Pres Dave presented a fund raising opportunity - selling raffle tickets to win a trip to the Super Bowl game - those present agreed we should participate in this venture - Pres. Dave will pursue this opportunity on our behalf

  • REMINDERS of upcoming events from Pres. Dave :

    • NOV 15, 2016 we will be reviewing Fundraising Project Ideas – 2 minutes each ion the following: Herrongate Dinner Theatre – Sue McKinnon; Bingo at the Red Barn and Bingo with the Optimist Club – linda Porritt; Regent Theatre Event – Kim Boatman and Sandy McDowell; Fashion Show – Janice Coupland; Raffle ticket selling for a ajor prize – Robert Kipling; House Tour / man Cave Tout – Sue McKinnon; Craft beer and Food Truck Festival – Lennis Trotter; Golf Tournament – Mke McLaren & Rob Bland. The club members will choose an event or two and a committee will be formed to research all the details for the events and the club members will choose what fundraisers we will do.

  • Larry Hurren - his grandson James receiving an award at school ;

  • Ted Morrison - pleased to have friend Sharon Clark as our speaker tonight, also noted the great need to support the needs of children in Haiti; also commented on his grandson, Tom letting his teacher know that the G8 is now G7!!;

  • Robert Kipling announced the Giant Book Sale at the Library on November 3 through 6, +++books at a great price;

  • Marilyn Taylor happy to have participated in the "Push for Change" walk ; despite missing the connection at Townline and King!?!?;

  • Robbie LaRoque pleased his son is recovering well from surgery, enjoying his two weeks off school;

  • Bob Stewart pleased the "A" frame Rotary sign is finally out of his garage;

  • Emmy Iheme enjoyed the conference, happy to bring potential new member to Parkwood Rotary;

  • Eman Attalia saw wet snow and thought of Christmas and cakes and hams!;
