“ The Kids' of Durham Region are all invited to wear their costumes and join us for some Halloween fun at the Annual Halloween Haunt at the Kids' Safety Village of Durham Region,” it was announced today by Durham Regional Police Constable Astrid Morse, the Officer in Charge of the Kids' Safety Village of Durham Region.
The 2016 Halloween Haunt is presented by the Ajax Optimist Club and Whitby Lions Club, with treats being provided by the Rotary Club of Oshawa-Parkwood.
“It’s a safe and fun way for young people to enjoy the Halloween experience with their family, “ she added.
There will be a host of things to see and do, such as a haunted house, witches brew, a torture chamber, the ghostly graveyard, Halloween safety, trick or treat stations, a pirate ship, a wedding in the church, the drive-in movie theatre, a midway, a colouring room inside the Village classroom, and lots of children’s activities.
“The event is free, but we are asking families to bring donations of non-perishable food items for local food banks,” added Ron Mortson, Tresaurer of the Kids' Safety Village.
“ We are asking everyone to register well in advance so that we will have lots of treats for the kids, Constable Morse added.
