A well attended, charity golf tournament was organized jointly by the Markham-Unionville Rotary Club and the Rotary Club of York on June 2nd at the Meadowbrook Golf and Country Club.

The Markham-Unionville Rotary Club and the Rotary Club of York are grateful to support and participation from the community and fellow Rotarians for another successful event.  The day started off simply perfect, warm with a cool gentle breeze.  The tournament attendees were treated to delicious lunch at Meadowbrook and then some good golf on the beautifully manicured course.  To keep the energy levels and excitement up, the golfers were treated to Chapmans ice-cream bars...

This years tournament was in support of the Markham Kids and Camp program.  Rotary strongly believes in inclusion and reaching out to the old and the young.  So it was particularly wonderful to be able for the Rotary Clubs to provide additional support to youth and put a smile on their faces as they head off to camp!

Mayor Frank Scarpitti, a Rotarian from the Markham-Unionville Club was in attendance at the Gala Dinner in the evening.  With prizes to be won and yet another feast, everyone appeared to have a fabulous time.  While the hole in prize remained unclaimed, we hope that attendees will be back again in 2015 to drive home in a Mustang!

A heartfelt thanks, to the participants, the sponsors for gifts in cash and kind, the Mayor, and all the volunteers who enabled some wonderful children head off to camp...
