Come join the City of Markham Mayor, Frank Scarpitti, Markham Councillors, Community Leaders, Rotarians, and members to celebrate and commemorate World Polio Day 2017. There will be a Flag Raising and some cake at the commemoration.
For more than three decades, Rotary has been the champion in ridding the world of the crippling disease of Polio. A disease which targets the very young and permanently and irreversibly cripples them, impairing their mobility and quality of life. All of this can be can be avoided permanently by One Drop of the Polio vaccine, something which provided to all children that need it. But these children can only avail of these drops through the generosity of Canadians and other supporters of the End Polio Now campaign.
Just like SARS impacted Canada in 2003 and took lives, Polio could return to Canada after a long absence in 1979. Let's support the Drop to Zero and make sure Polio becomes the second disease to be eradicated from the world.
Your presence and solidarity at the Markham Civic Centre on October 24th will mean a lot of Rotarians of Markham, and to the children who are counting on us to stay safe from this crippling disease.
Lets not let them down!
