The Rotary Club of Etobicoke is proud to have once again contributed $1,000 in purchased household and personal items to go into 5 baskets for women and families in shelters around Toronto and surrounding areas.

The Rotary Club of Etobicoke is proud to have once again contributed $1,000 in purchased household and personal items to go into 5 baskets for women and families in shelters around Toronto and surrounding areas.  Club members diligently searched for high quality, well priced items, often extracting discounts from retailers, in an effort to produce "the most that love and money" can buy for our Rotary baskets.

Our baskets, wrapped in Rotary colours, stickers, ribbon and bows, were delivered to the Basketeers collection location at the Salvation Army Temple in Mississauga on Saturday, November 17th.

Thanks to the club and Board for approving the funding, members of community services committee for their participation and generosity, along with an incredible display of bargain purchasing by Theresa Sherwood and Gerald Lue for his introduction to contacts to further our buying capability.

Basketeers is a wonderful organization that campaigns year round for their November distribution of over 600 baskets to women and children escaping violence.

Basketeers delivers the baskets to over 15 shelters in Toronto in a fine tuned operation combining dedication with graceful spirit.   Beautifully crafted baskets are delivered to the center in the morning and immediately shipped to the shelters by teams of volunteers throughout the day.

Congratulations to Linda R, Theresa, Gary, Gerry, Gill, Hugh and Andre.    We had a lot of fun.
