Digital Revolution: How the World is Changing

Anton will be speaking about the stage of a digital revolution today and what to expect in the coming few years. We see the transformation in many areas of our life; we hear a lot of new terms: machine learning, big data, artificial intelligence, robots, deep learning, neural networks. Let’s de-mystify these terms and explore examples in the world around us. Anton will leverage his experience in IT and data analytics sector to discuss how Rotary 6 areas of focus are evolving with the digital era.

Bio

Anton Svendrovski was born in grew up in Siberia. He studied in Germany and US, and graduated with Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science and Master's Degree in Math. Anton came to Canada in 2000 and worked in IT field focusing on data management. He worked in companies like Enbridge, TD Bank, Manulife, Goldcorp, Canadian Federation of Independent Business. In 2008 he completed Dalhousie MBA program in Financial Services. Anton is passionate about data analytics, big data initiatives, statistical analysis and quantitative research. He runs a consulting company StatsHelp that assists businesses, researchers, PhD students to transform data into information, knowledge and make evidence-based decisions. Anton is actively engaged with art therapy associations in Canada, US, and Europe to de-mystify and promote research for art therapy professionals. He is often a speaker at the conferences, guest lecturer for research methods courses, delivers workshops and webinars, published author of over 20 articles and books (mostly in medical research), member of Research Committee at the Canadian College of Osteopathy and community member at the Scarborough Health Network Research Ethics Board.

In his spare time, he likes learnings new things in various areas: information technology, predictive analytics, Big Data, finance, history. He enjoys travel, exploring new places and learning new languages. He also likes reading, going to the theatre and opera. 

From 2009 to 2015 he was a Board Director at non-profit Seniors Housing called Old York Tower. In the last two years, he held Executive position (Vice President) at Old York Tower.

Anton joined rotary in 2018 and has been recently appointed as Treasurer at the Rotary Club Toronto Sunrise.
