R Steve introduced Jim Oliver:

Jim enjoyed a 35 year career in Sales and Marketing for Corporations before becoming a contract teacher at York University, Seneca College and George Brown College. He and his wife Barb retired to Brighton in 2000 where he became re-aquainted with friends who got him involved with Quinte Access.

Jim is a part-time driver for Quinte Access.

It is a valuable resource to the area that many people don't know about, or have misconceptions of it.

Quinte Access was formed over 30 years ago. They offer a specialized door to door service for >55 year olds or to those with challenges. They prefer 24 hours notice but can sometimes accommodate same day.

Cost is very low due to subsidies. Example trip from Picton to Belleville return is $16. Taxi would be about $56.

In addition to the specialized service, they also have routes that any one can jump on. $5 round trip Brighton to Trenton.

This summer they tried a Brighton Sunday Market route that included going to the Coderington Market. This service was free. Many visitors to the Park took advantage of this service.

They cover Prince Edward County, Brighton, Quinte West and Belleville. They will even take people to Kingston hospitals.

They get subsidized from all levels of Government and individuals.

You can transfer to other routes in Trenton on the regular routes.
