R Mark introduced Capt. Jeff Morehouse. R Mark thanked Jeff and all the staff at CFB Trenton for the work they do for us.

Jeff said he enjoys visiting the various service clubs to see the energy and good works that we all accomplish.

This is the 8th annual Pond Hockey Classic. They have raised $272,000 for their two principle charities - Wounded Warriors and Trenton Memorial Hospital. There is an emphasis with Wounded Warriors related to PTSD.

The theme this year is 'Teams'. We all accomplish so much more when we work in teams. Including the Trenton Hospital and Wounded Warriors. But also the Pond Hockey organizing committee and service clubs.

He went on to describe some of the events this year. Pond Hockey Classic will be February 1 to 3. On the Friday night is their banquet. They have guest speakers, this year a couple who will share story of partner with PTSD and effect on spouse as well. Also retired NHL hockey player. They have some professional bike frames to auction off (frames are very light). Dress is business casual and hockey jerseys are okay, even encouraged.

Then Saturday the tournaments starts at 8am. 5 rinks going with about 40 teams playing 4 on 4, no goalie and 30 minute games. They have competitive and non-competitive teams. Women and men's teams. They currently have 15 teams registered. They play all day Saturday even under lights in the evening.
For families, between 10am and 2pm they have a winter jubilee with smore's, horse drawn rides, snow sculptures, snow shoeing and more.
From 6pm to 11pm they have 'classic pub' night with a live band.

Sunday is all serious playoffs only. They will wrap up by 3pm.

They are looking for volunteers. They have great sponsors. It is an enjoyable weekend. Not only do they raise money for their two charities but raise awareness as well.

R Mark thanked Jeff.
