Speaker
Monique was our speaker today and provide an update on Polo in the Park Ottawa 2017.

It will be held on Saturday September 16, 2017. There is a lot of "competition" with 2017 events on the August 27 weekend, and we are hoping that Prince Harry will accept our invitation to attend (and perhaps even participate). He will be in town the following week for the Invictus Games in Toronto. Monique has been working on this for some time and an official invite from our embassy, and Sir Terry Matthews) has been delivered to the Prince's staff.

Beneficiaries this year will be Wabano and the Wounded Warriors.

This year, as part of the ongoing growth and development of the event, there will be a separate Logistics committee and ramped up Sponsorship efforts.

More volunteers will be required as this year is expected to be much larger than last year, as part of the 2017 celebrations, and especially if Prince Harry accepts.

We should all be looking for ways to promote the event through our own networks, speaking to other Rotary and service clubs, and seeking sponsorship opportunities.

The club is very excited with the positive developments of Polo in the Park Ottawa and anxious to help make PITPO 2017 exceptional.

Cheque Presentation
President Peter gave Britt and Jeff a cheque for $500 for their coffeehouse fundraiser Friday night. They are raising funds to buy a ShelterBox.

President Peter White ended the meeting promptly at 1:30pm.
