End Tracoma

Club member Judy took the lead with organising and distributing hygiene kits as part of End Tracoma 2020. Tracoma is an infectious disease caused by  “Bacterium Chlamydia Trachomatis” and the infection is caused by a roughening of the inner surface of the eyelids. Read Judy's report on our clubs project page

Vietnam Health Cards

I am pleased to announce that Latitude 38 has just purchased 940 Health Insurance Cards for residents in Dong Thap Province in the south of Vietnam, that's 940 people who will not have to worry about paying for medical treatment for the coming year. Thanks to all of our supporters who made this happen.

This year we exceeded our goal ( last January we purchased 800 cards in Dong Thap Province ) and we are thankful that we have been able to again support those in need in Vietnam. If you would like to support us on this ongoing annual project let me know. Visit our project page

Water Sanitation and Hygiene ( WaSH ) - Siem Reap Province

Our club member in Siem Reap, Cambodia, Ms Sophanit, has been working with the Rotary Club of Gravenhurst, Ontario, Canada to build toilet blocks and hand wash stations at two schools. Omanoas Primary and Donkeo Secondary school are located 50 km and 40 km from Siem Reap, Cambodia. Both schools do not have enough toilets for the amount of students and the current hand wash stations consist of either a bucket of water and soap or none at all. As the project progresses I will post photos so you can see the good work that Rotary is doing in Cambodia. Big shout out to Gravenhurst Rotary Club
