Dear Foundation Chairs / Club Contacts,
The District Foundation Committee once again invites your Club to connect with a School and offer a scholarship for “disadvantaged” students entering Year 11 in 2019 and planning to continue into Year 12 in 2020.
The selection of the student should be left up to the School and while we would appreciate a comment from the School and possibly the student at the end of Year 11 as to the effect of the scholarship on them and their ability to continue with their education there is no requirement for the student to be identified.
The school may choose not to inform the student that a Rotary Foundation Scholarship has been awarded. The scholarship may also be used to support two students
Foundation will award $500 each year for two years and this amount must be matched by the Club.
The Scholarships will be awarded on a first in basis and will be open first off to Clubs that did not receive a scholarship in 2017 with a closing date of February 15th 2019.
Clubs that received a scholarship in 2017 are encouraged to apply but will not be eligible for selection until after February 15th 2019.
