Professor Graham Durant AM, Director Questacon

Graham was appointed Director of Questacon in 2003.  He is a highly experienced museum and science centre leader with a distinguished academic background and international reputation. Originally trained as a geologist at the University of Wales, Graham spent 25 years at the University of Glasgow where he was awarded a personal professorship in science interpretation and communication.  In Scotland he played a significant role in the establishment of the Glasgow Science Centre which opened in 2001 and served as an advisor to the Scottish Executive.  Graham helped develop the Inspiring Australian strategy and is an Honorary Professor at the Australian National University.  He was awarded an AM in 2012.  Graham has served six years as an ASTC Board Member and is a current member of the ASTC Global Committee.  In this role he is a leading advocate for the development of the global science centre sector.  Graham is a current Board member of the Australian Science Media Centre.
