Speaker 9/12/22- Sergeant Daniel Allen Our speaker this week is Sergeant Daniel Allen. He has spoken in the past at our club and this week he will be speaking about active shooter situations. He is a native of Beaufort, currently works as the Crime Prevention/Community Liaison for the Beaufort County Sheriff's Office. Danny was educated in the Beaufort County public school system and graduated from Beaufort High School in 2002. After graduation, he pursued higher education at Tennessee State University in Nashville, TN. He later graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Sociology from Francis Marion University in Florence, SC in May 2006. Danny joined the Beaufort County Sheriff's Office in June 2006, beginning his career in the Northern Patrol division. In 2007 Danny became a School Resource Officer (SRO) at Battery Creek High School where he served for 3 years. He then became the SRO at Whale Branch Early College High School and continued to serve there for 5 years. While serving as a SRO Danny was honored as the 2012 SRO of the year for the Low country and State of South Carolina. In September 2015 Danny transferred to the Northern Patrol Division where he worked until November 2016. Danny served briefly as the Communications Liaison, prior to being reassigned as an Accreditation Officer. Danny served in the accreditation section for a little over a year until April 2018 when he was promoted to Sergeant by the Sheriff and asked to take over the Crime Prevention and Community Liaison position. A position he is very proud to serve in, because it was always his goal to help serve the same community that helped raise him. Danny serves on the SC Association of Crime Prevention Officers (SACPO) board as the 2nd Vice President. In December 2020 he received the SC Association of Prevention Professionals and Advocates (SCA PPA), Prevention Advocacy Award. In February 2021 Danny was promoted to Staff Sergeant and continues to serve as a Crime Prevention officer. In December 2021 he graduated from Coker University with a Master's Degree in Criminal and Social Justice Policy. Outside of his normal duties, he has held and still holds multiple collateral duties as he tries to continue to be an asset the Beaufort County Sheriff's Office and the great citizens of Beaufort County.
