As I embark into my first year as president, I want to express my gratitude to Abby, our
past president, for the tremendous job she did during the Covid Pandemic. She was able
to hold Club meetings via Zoom. She handled our fundraising needs and kept the Club
moving forward.

I am proud of our Club and what we have contributed to our community in past years. I
have envisioned our club as being a major contributor to our neighbors in need,
“Service Above Self” which every Rotarian has strived to achieve for more than 110
years.

I am looking to start two new committees. The first is a “Community Assessment
Committee” to focus on identifying the strengths, assets, needs, and challenges of our
community. The second is a “Youth Service Committee” to focus on providing programs
and resources related to educational and leadership development of youths in our
community. If you are interested in joining either committee email me or give me a call.
Our club is attempting to return back to normal or as close to normal as possible. That
being said, Bill has taken on the task of scheduling speakers to come to our weekly
meetings. If you have anyone in mind please reach out to Bill. I would also like to set
some guidelines for the nights we have speakers in an attempt to keep their
presentation moving forward. The speaker will be introduced and hold their
presentation then there will be a time for questions and to take a Club photo. Please
refrain from side chat and interruption during the presentations. We want to be
respectful of the time they are contributing to our meeting. Obviously, if it is an
interactive presentation the speaker will open the floor for questions.
On that note, I want to reach out to our club members and encourage them to attend
our weekly meetings in person. I understand we do not have an attendance requirement
but each of you have joined Rotary to help others in need, and each and every one of
you have so much to contribute and I would love your insight. I will be reaching out to
all of our members personally in the upcoming weeks.

I will also be starting up our newsletter again, but it will be a monthly newsletter put out
the last Friday of each month. It will touch on the upcoming events and future speakers.
It will also recap past events.

In closing I just want to thank each member. Our club has received numerous
compliments from Rotary District leaders and other area clubs Presidents on how well
our Club is doing. Many other clubs are adopting our philosophies and club rules which
our Club has been doing for years. This is a reflection of each and every one of us!
