New President’s report for 2020-2021

Like many Clubs, we were forced to do this year's Changeover online. So we all logged into ZOOM and carried on.

Our new District Governor David Clark was there together with Past District Governor Kalma McLellan. They offered thanks for achievements for our 2019-20 year as well as support and encouragement for the new year. As our Past President Paul Campbell was about to do another Rotary year this simplified the process of handing over from Paul to Paul. We also welcomed two new Board members, Joan Hart (Membership) and Rod Tout (Administration).

Some observations from President Paul;
I am not going to give you all a political speech where I make grandiose promises about what we can and will achieve.  I will agree that when we had the visioning day I referred to earlier and looking back I am enthused by what we achieved even in hard times.  So, this year we will conduct another survey to get the views of all club members and prepare that into a strategy and action plan so at this time in 2021, we can look back to say “job well done”.
There is one thing about this club which we can all be very proud – we are flexible, sociable and respectful – that is how we get things done.  So, I will carry on that tradition of flexibility, sociability and respect.
We all have skills and talents – and I call on every one of you to apply those skills and talents and acquire more through the Rotary Leadership Institute in this coming financial year and with the great set of club directors and supporting people I can confidently say to the people in need in 2021 “here we come”.
