Previous meeting minutes
Bill Giddings said that there was a subtraction error in the Raymond James mutual fund account. The loss due to market investments was $252.70, not $257.60. Treasurer Kay Brejcha said she would correct the error.

Treasurer's report
Treasurer Kay Brejcha presented the account balances as follows: The Raymond James account had a beginning balance of $54,445.68. There was $53,247.61 in mutual funds and $1,092.42 in cash for a total ending balance of $54,360.03. The total loss due to market investments was $85.65.

The Commerce Bank account balance as of Oct. 23, 2018, was $14,581.61. This included funds received from Walktoberfest sponsorships and walker registrations. Kay said that at the December board meeting she will present a detailed report on the use of Sage for club members to pay for general meeting dinners with a credit or debit card.

Membership
Jeane Tetro reported that the Membership Committee is in the process of creating a card-sized mini brochure that will provide answers to the question "What is Cosmo?". The cards will be available for current members to hand out to prospective members.

Social committee
The next social event will be a progressive dinner from 5 to 8 p.m. at the homes of Jeane and Bill Tetro, Sara and Tim Echternach, and Julie and Brian McNeill. A sign-up sheet for attendance will be available at the Nov. 1 general meeting.

Walktoberfest
Chair Rose La Mantia reported that 92 walkers registered and attended the event, and $9,640 was raised as of Oct. 23. There was a total of $700 in expenses. This is a net of $8,940. The board approved that the net funds shall be distributed to the Cosmopolitan Diabetes and Endocrinology Center, Camp Hickory Hill, and the Pediatric Diabetes and Endocrinology department at MU Health Care Women's and Children's Hospital. The board also approved that the event will take place on Oct. 6 next year. Rose has agreed to serve as chair.

Unfinished business
The Show-Me Cosmo club has not yet received a refund of $250 from Cosmopolitan International for International Convention bags that accidentally weren't printed with the Show-Me Cosmo name. Julie McNeill said she will follow up with interim Director David House.

Kay Brejcha reported that all of the donation checks from June have been distributed to their intended organizations.

New business
Kay Brejcha has been contacted by Script for a fundraiser that uses gift cards purchased by Show-Me Cosmo members and used at a variety of local businesses. A percentage of the sales is then given to Show-Me Cosmo. Kay said she will gather more specific information and present it at either a general meeting or a board meeting.

The December general meeting will feature a lip-synching contest similar to last year. A sign-up sheet for acts will be available at the Nov. 1 general meeting. The board agreed to open the contest to the other two Columbia Cosmo clubs and make it a three-club social event.

Adjournment
Dayton Shepherd made a motion at 6:52 p.m. that the board meeting adjourn. Bill Tetro seconded the motion.
