Show-Me Cosmo President Julie McNeill called the board meeting to order at 5:35 p.m. In attendance were Brian McNeill, Frank La Mantia, Dayton Shepherd, Kay Brejcha, Bill Tetro, Jeane Tetro and Bill Giddings. 
 
There were no additional topics brought forward to be discussed, and there were no changes or corrections to last month's  minutes.
 
Correspondence
Julie McNeill reported that the club received thank-you notes from Meals on Wheels, Services for Independent Living and the Food Bank. There are was an invitation for a club sponsorship and for Cosmo members to attend the Winter Wishes concert at 7 p.m. Dec. 8 at the Missouri Theater. The concert is a benefit for Granny's House. In addition, there was a letter from the mayor of Columbia asking for donations of either $100, $500 or $1,000 to the Columbia Values Diversity Celebration, which will be held Jan. 17. Julie asked board members if there was any interest in either the concert or the celebration, and no board members expressed interest. 
 
Treasurer's report
 Treasurer Kay Brejcha presented the account balances as follows: The Raymond James account had a beginning balance of $54,569.59. There was $51,386.86 in mutual funds and $1,092.69 in cash for a total ending balance of $52,479.55. The total loss due to market investments was $2,090.04. 
 
The Commerce Bank account balance as of Nov. 27, 2018, was $13,056.82. This included funds received from Walktoberfest sponsorships and walker registrations.
 
Kay said that at the December board meeting she will present a detailed report on the use of Sage for club members to pay for general meeting dinners with a credit or debit card. Frank La Mantia made a motion to accept treasurer's report. Dayton Shepherd seconded the motion. The motion passed. 
 
Kay also reported that she has received the $250 refund from Cosmopolitan International for the International Convention bags that mistakenly weren't printed with the Show-Me Cosmo logo. 
 
Social committee
Jeane Tetro reported that the progressive dinner on Nov. 10 was a success, with 13 Show-Me Cosmo members participating. 
 
Ready for Spaghetti
Frank La Mantia asked the board to consider raising the cost for a meal from $8 to $10 in order to cover increasing expenses associated with the event. Bill Tetro made a motion to raise the cost to $10, and Dayton Shepherd seconded the motion. The motion passed. Julie McNeill said she will discuss the board's decision with the Cosmo Breakfast Club, which partners with Show-Me Cosmo to hold the annual event. 
 
Walktoberfest
Frank La Mantia reported that the event is scheduled to be held Sunday, Oct. 6, 2019, at Cosmopolitan Park. 
 
General meeting
The December general meeting will feature a Christmas carol sing-a-long and and an appearance by Santa Claus. If you would like to have Santa give a gift to someone in attendance at the meeting, bring the wrapped gift to Rose La Mantia at the beginning of the meeting.
