The Kiwanis Club of Atlanta has a long standing relationship with the USO of Georgia!  And one of our most popular volunteer opportunities is to welcome the troops on the 2nd Saturday of each month at the Hartsfield Jackson International Airport ... and we need more folks to help out,, especially for our September 12th service day.  We also need help picking up meals every Wednesday and delivering to USO.
Kiwanis Airport Service includes the following 2 opportunities for 3 hours service credit each.

1) Every second Saturday of the month we need 3-4 volunteers to serve for each of two shifts at the USO Reception Center from 10am - 1pm and 1pm - 4pm. 2 people will stand behind a red podium at the top of the main escalators from the plane train up to the terminal to greet service men and women and to show them how to get to the USO Center; another 1-2 people will work in the kitchen making sandwiches and coffee, keeping the refrigerator and food trays full etc. If you wish, the USO will give you a coupon to pay for your parking.

2) We also need one volunteer to pick up donated sandwiches and cookies from Vingenzos Restaurant in Woodstock every Wednesday. We currently have 4-5 volunteers to cover a month, so this is a once-a-month opportunity that takes 2-3 hours depending on where you live.
