Kerry L. Heyward is the University Attorney for Georgia State University where she is a member of the senior leadership team.  She is responsible for overseeing all legal matters for the University, including advising the university’s president and senior administrators regarding legal issues; supervising university attorneys and office staff; representing Georgia State in legal proceedings and negotiations; overseeing litigation management and corporate transactions; and assessing legal risks of university activities and making policy recommendations to reduce those risks.  She oversees the provision of legal services regarding personnel matters, student issues, research, compliance, intellectual property, real estate, and athletics.
 
Heyward joined the university in 2000 and was named University Attorney in 2007.  Prior to joining Georgia State University she was an associate at a law firm specializing in transactional law, estate planning and tax law.  She serves on numerous university committees, and is a member and secretary of the Georgia State University Research Foundation, Inc.  She is a member of the National Association of College and University Attorneys.  She earned a B.A. from the University of North Florida  and her J.D. from Stetson University College of Law.

Mr. Bharath Parthasarathy is Deputy General Counsel for Georgia State University, one of U.S. News’ “Most Innovative” universities.  He is responsible for complex corporate and legal matters for the institution, including corporate governance, transactional, intercollegiate athletics, innovation and entrepreneurship, and higher education matters. He began his legal career as an Associate at Alston & Bird LLP.
 
Mr. Parthasarathy is active in many organizations throughout Metro Atlanta, including the Leadership Council of Zoo Atlanta, and the Advisory Boards of 48in48.org and Generations Financial, and has served as a Director to Health Students Taking Action Together, Inc. and Last Mile Health. He was named a member of the “40 Under 40” by the Atlanta Business Chronicle (2013) and an “On the Rise” attorney by the Fulton County Daily Report (2013) and is an alumnus of Leadership Atlanta (Class of 2013), Power 30 Under 30, and Outstanding Atlanta. 
 
He holds a B.A. from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a J.D. from Emory University .
