A Centennial Celebration Year!

Native of Atlanta, graduated from The Westminster Schools and The University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill with a major in history in 1965. Served in the Ga. Air National Guard, went to work for National Bank of Georgia for 16 years and then for Bank South for another 16 years ending up as EVP responsible for the Wealth Management Group. After the bank was sold to NationsBank in 1996, I worked for Harry Norman, Realtors as VP of Development in their Corporate Relocation Department. After 7 years there I went to work for the Georgia Division of the American Cancer Society (an organization I had been a volunteer for since 1973) in development until retirement.

I have been happily married to Carol Payne Young for 51 years with two sons, Blake, IV (Catherine) and Hoyt (Margaret). We have 6 grandchildren, (4 girls and 2 boys ages 3 to 10. We are blessed that they all live in Atlanta! I have served as an Elder, Trustee and Sunday school teacher at First Presbyterian Church where my family has belonged for 6 generations. I am proud to say that I was recruited to Kiwanis over 25 years ago by Virlyn Moore (father of David), a great friend and much beloved Kiwanian.
